Nautical Wedding Favors

More and more brides are planning shipboard weddings on cruise ships so that they can have a perfect wedding and a fabulous vacation at the same time. With penty of time and creativity, brides can give their guests nautical wedding favors that will represent the wedding theme.

Many brides are giving gift bags as favors for their weddings. These gift bags can be made ahead of time, boxed, and delivered on the ship along with luggage. Then all the bride has to do is visit her guests room and give them their gift bags. If possible the gift bags should have a nautical theme. Since everyone will be aboard a ship, nautical wedding favors are a must.

If you can’t find a nautical themed gift bag, then you can create your own. All you need are pretty blue bags and stickers with nautical symbols. You might even put a picture of the ship on the sticker. There are numerous programs on the Internet that will help you make the computer stickers which are available at most any computer store.

Filling the gift bags is really lots of fun. Depending on how many guests are attending the wedding, a bride may choose a large or small bag. Obviously the smaller the gift bag, the fewer gift that will be needed.

If you have only a few guests and family attending the wedding, the bride can afford to be very generous. Some fun nautical wedding favors might be a pair of flip flops, some insect repellent, a nice beach towel, bottles of water, and a sun hat. Matching hats will personalize the group and call attention to the wedding. If you have the hats personalized, you might choose an anchor and the wedding date. After the cruise everyone will have some great mementos of the cruise and the wedding.

If the wedding party is very large, choose a smaller bag and add items that are not particularly expensive. You can include water bottles, sun tan lotion, a schedule for your planned daily events, and a sweet note thanking each guest or family member for coming. Often that truly personal touch is more appreciated than expensive gifts.

If the budget allows, the bride and groom might plan a cruise excursion for all of the members of the group. The vouchers for the excursion would be included in the gift bag. You might even add a disposable camera so that everyone will have pictures of the day.

Nautical wedding favors in a lovely gift bag are the perfect accompaniment to a cruise wedding. Make sure that you don’t include any forbidden items in the gift bags such as candles or bottles of wine unless your ship allows you to bring unlimited wine onboard. Candles are never allowed on a ship as they are fire hazards. Expensive or inexpensive everyone will enjoy your thoughtful gifts.
